Iguana Rojo

I'm tired of seeing my definition of amalgamy. I had nothing to post though, unless you want to see pictures of me in my house doing freelance. Not that exciting. Or maybe me redboxing at the grocery store. So when the opportunity came along to go meet up with Jacob and Sarah at the Red Iguana, I took it!

Jacob is in town visiting from Florida for the week. He's the one who got married to my old roommate Lisa and has been friends with Joseph for a long time and knows how to match his clothes. All three of us had never been to the Red Iguana before, so we decided to make it so. It was awesome to eat with Jacob because he's got a per diem. Yes! Thanks Jacob!

It was pretty tasty. Out waiter was a little Aspergers weird. Halfway through our meal when I had already requested water for my beverage, he came over to our table and asked if I had decided on a drink yet. And when asked which food selection he liked better, he just sort of shrugged his shoulders. He did come up with a good solution though.

All in all, I think the hype about the Red Iguana is deserved.

You know what else deserves all of it's hype (at least the hype it got in Spain)? The movie The Orphanage. Bev came over later in the evening and watched it with me and both of us wished the other person was a guy so that we could have clung onto each other. I hope no burlap-sack masked children haunted your dreams, Bev.

I'm all about watching Spanish movies, but that one looks like it would scare the crap out of me and I can't have that. I have enough crap to clean up everyday without cleaning up my own.

Oh, the Iguana. I'd trade 1,000 scrabble wins for a plate of their pipian... or their cochinita pibil... or their gringas... should I continue?

Azucar, oooo...it was pretty gosh darn scary.

scrumpestuous d, I've never even heard of those dishes before. I'll help you with your with and beat you at another game of scrabble if you'd like.

I like your new "blog-do"...simple yet elegant, but without the slightest hint of an ostentatious persona (buying this?)

Your Red Iguana dishes look mighty fine indeed.

I prefer the blue iguana to its red brother...I always get the runs when I eat at the red one..

Mike, yes, yes...tell me more...

Erin, I didn't get the runs, but I did get that expanded stomach that won't go down, the same way you can tell if your baby has gas.

Why does Sarah look so composed with her mole? Like a painting of a girl with a pearl earring ... and a taco? Maybe she's just hungry.

I dig that place something fierce. Good thing none of you have jobs, so you can eat whenever you want, eh?

I've been eating California Mex for most of my 56 years and the Red Iguana has the best verde ever! You've made me really hungry. And me only 800 miles away.
